WHO WE ARE
Established 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, ILLEGEAR is Malaysia’s first custom laptop brand which played a pivotal role in shaping the custom laptop and gaming computer landscape in Malaysia. Our range of products include customized high-performance gaming laptops, professional laptops, creator laptops, desktops, gears such as monitors and mice as well as other premium collectibles and peripherals.
ILLEGEAR rose from very humble beginnings in the early years of 2011 and rapidly became an established customised high-performance laptops and desktops brand that is the top choice in Malaysia today.
Our founder, Mr. Chin Jiun How, being an avid gamer himself, realised the overwhelming needs for an ideal laptop in the community. Building and customizing an ideal machine was his innermost passion, and from there he began answering the needs of the community. Perfection was the goal, customization was the key, and ILLEGEAR was born.

ACHIEVEMENTS
2014
ILLEGEAR started its business online and operated that way for its first few years. Soon, ILLEGEAR had outgrown its location due to the overwhelming demands and moved to their first commercial outlet in Empire Damansara in 2014.
2015 – 2017
ILLEGEAR is recognized as the #1 custom laptop brand in Malaysia with over 95% customer reviews. The brand is also the undisputed winner of the Lowyat.NET Community Choice Awards, winning the award three years in a row from 2015 to 2017.
2018 – 2019
The rapid growth is also reflected in ILLEGEAR’s balance sheets, with the Company doubling its annual turnover from 2018 to 2019. Appointed by Intel became Intel’s Titanium Partner, the highest tier in the Intel Partner Alliance program, and Intel’s Enthusiast Partner for the first time in Malaysia.
2019
ILLEGEAR has officially launched its first concept showroom at Oval Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. The concept showroom on the ground floor next to the Glo Damansara and TTDI MRT stations is stocked with the latest ILLEGEAR custom laptop and desktop products. The ultimate goal of the concept showroom is to provide the best customer shopping experience for customized laptops and PCs.
2020
For their next expansion, Johor Bahru is blessed to be the chosen one for their next physical shop location. The showroom will have demo units available, larger space, easy to access location, and also multiple parking spaces. Not only it is a showroom, it is also a dedicated service centre to service the ILLEGEAR customers in Johor Bahru area.
2022
The ILLEGEAR branch in Bayan Lepas, Penang handles retail and after-sales operations, so if you have any problems with your purchase, you can return to the same location. The company hopes to display a variety of products in the store, including its line of desktops and customizable laptops.
ILLEGEAR became Intel’s Titanium Partner, the highest tier in Intel’s Partner Alliance program, and Intel’s Enthusiast Partner, a first in Malaysia.
As Malaysia’s most popular indie company for gaming laptops, Illegear definitely has its niche among gaming enthusiasts. Its laptops are usually very well priced for its hardware, and the Raven is a great example.
